This article provides a comparison results of measurements, numerical calculations and computer models of the earthing resistance in layered soils and with using ground enhancement materials (GEM). Most of measurements of ground resistivity is done very cursory, what results in incorrect values in the project of earthing installation. If it is planned to use materials that improve the electrical parameters of the soil, this error may be even greater, because most of the equations do not consider such configuration. Therefore, an attempt was made to modify existing equations to include GEM component, and then they were used to calculate two real configurations of grounding systems. Next, the obtained results of calculations were compared with those obtained by measurements and computer simulations in the COMSOL environment. Finally, conclusions and observations were formulated and presented.
