Analytical and Numerical Calculations of Overvoltages in Underground Cable of Intrusion Detection System Directly Hit by Lightning

摘要

The paper presents an analysis of exposure of an underground cable sensor of an intrusion detection system to direct lightning strike. Results of calculations using the analytical transmission-line model and the numerical model implemented in the SES CDEGS computer code are compared. The analytical model can be used for validation of numerical calculations of more complex underground systems.
