Development of Three Phase Power Supplies for Resistance Welding Machines

摘要

An original approach to creating power supplies for resistance welding machines is offered. It is based on the use of the direct three-to-one phase matrix converters as power supplies for resistance welding machines. The matrix converter control method which allows to provide high power factor of the developed power supply is proposed. Proposed power circuit topology and control system is simulated using MATLAB. The simulation results confirmed high effectiveness of using proposed power supply with developed control method. It became possible to achieve almost unity power factor and provide high quality of output parameters (primarily output power) regulation.
