In this paper, the bit error probability of cooperative selective decode-and-forward (SDF) relaying network with an energy harvesting (EH) relay is derived by a unified analysis for power-splitting (PS), time-switching (TS) and ideal EH protocols in Nakagami-m fading channels. The effects of EH parameters ρ and α for PS and TS protocols, respectively, on the bit error rate (BER) performance are investigated and the BER results are obtained for the optimum values of α and ρ with respect to signal-to-noise ratio. The non-EH cooperative SDF and EH dual-hop DF networks are considered for comparison purposes.
