This paper presents a torque ripple reduction method using optimized combination of positive voltage vectors (PVV) and new zero voltage vectors (ZVV) in direct torque control (DTC) of brushless DC motor (BLDCM). The switching table is optimized based on the analysis of duty ratio modulation to get the optimized combination of PVV and ZVV. Comparison between different control methods has been carried out by numerical simulation and the proposed method is validated quite effective to reduce torque ripple.
