To evaluate the influences of bus lane-changing behaviors near bus stops, the bus-only lane and the adjacent lane are chosen as objects of research. A calculated model is developed from the relationship among free-flow speed, road space occupancy, and theoretical capacity. The decreased capacity of the adjacent lane is calculated taking into account of the impact of bus lane-changing behaviors. An area in Nanjing, China, is studied to collect field data for model calibration. Corresponding signal plans, specific lane distribution of the target approach, and traffic flow are investigated for data entry in simulation by Vissim. Then we assign different values to the percentage of left-turn buses for comparison. The simulation results show that when the percentage is over 30%, reasonable transportation management measures should be conducted.
