Cracking at a fold in double layer coated paper: influence of coating layer composition

摘要

1. Increasing starch content in either layer results in an increase in crack area. 2. Applying second layer with a high strain to failure helps to reduce cracking, even for bottom layers with high starch content. 3. In the extreme case, pure latex on top of pigmented coating stops all cracking.
