Airbus has based its strategy on European Ground System - Common Core (EGS-CC) for future satellite operations in both the telecom and Earth observation domains. This solution brings numerous advantages, namely process optimisation and industrial synergies. However it is designed to be extended and completed where needed and we found such a case with the operations procedures engineering process. Indeed, Airbus needs to adapt itself to each of its customers, and at the same time maintain a strong internal product line policy. This could not be achieved only with EAPL (EGS-CC Automated Procedure Language). Another layer has proved to be necessary to ensure translation capabilities into client languages. This paper presents the rationale of this solution called ASLAN, the design choices made to reach our goal, and the advantages of this solution.
