The Development of Image-based HTV Exposed Pallet (EP) Translation Calculator (IHTC) for the Robotic Berthing Operation of HTV EP by HTV Berthing Camera System (HBCS)

JAXA has developed HTV (H-II Transfer Vehicle) exposed cargo carrier translation sensing system (IHTC: Image-Based HTV EP (Exposed Pallet) Translation Calculator) without any change on the existing flight hardware/software. This system can provide the numerical operation monitoring ability and provide operational robustness especially for contingency situation.
