Poverty and anti-poverty are difficult problems in the world. As we know, identifying the causes of poverty is a basic premise in the process of anti-poverty. Individual poverty is numerous and scattered, so it is the focus and difficulty of a country or region in anti-poverty. In order to improve the method of identifying individual poverty, the causality of individual poverty is put forward in this paper. According to the rough set principle, a method to identify individual poverty is established, that is that the causes of individual poverty are included in the decision information table, and the key causes leading to individual poverty are summed up by reducing the decision information table. This will provide useful information for accurate poverty reduction.
