Mathematical morphology has austere theoretical basis and explicit conception, and it is associated with many applications in all aspects relative to image processing. The basic operation of morphology is to extract the useful parts in target images with structure elements in order to analyze and process images, in which structure elements are like `probes' with certain shapes and sizes. The shapes and sizes influence image processing results. In this passage, we propose a novel quantitative analysis method for mathematical morphology image processing results which are obtained by morphological operations when different shapes and sizes structure elements are used. We analyze the result images and explain the principles and effects behind the mathematical morphology processing from the view of pixel values.
