Analysis and prevention of bird hazard barriers on transmission line in Guangxi power grid

In this paper, we analyze the statistics of bird infestation events in 110kV and above transmission lines of Guangxi Power Grid Corporation from 2014 to 2016, study the districts and towers with transmission lines in which such events happen frequently and summarize the characteristics and rules of bird-defect events and bird-trip accidents in transmission lines of Guangxi power grid. Combining the work of other units which has been taken to prevent the bird infestation, we put forward comprehensive measures used to prevent the damage of birds to the transmission line which suggest dredging and plugging simultaneously. And this measure has achieved good results.
