Joint User Pairing and Power Allocation for Full-Duplex MIMO Cellular Systems under Imperfect Channel State Information

This paper considers a full-duplex (FD) multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) cellular system, where full-duplex communication (FDC) is enabled at the base station (BS) and multiple antennas applied at both BS and users. The system suffers not only from self interference (SI) and co-channel interference (CCI), but also from imperfect channel state information (CSI) owing to nonideal channel estimation which is inevitable in practical communications. A joint user pairing and power allocation optimization problem is formulated to maximize the achievable sum rate subject to power constraints. Since the problem is non-convex, a heuristic algorithm based on decomposing scheme and gradient projection (GP) method is proposed. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superior performance of proposed optimization.
