Android-Based Sleep Apnea Monitoring Software

摘要

An Android-based APP software was designed and implemented for a Photoplethysmography (PPG) based sleep apnea monitoring system. The key algorithm of APP is to extract physiological parameters such as blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, respiratory rate, pulse rate variability and body motion from PPG signals. Based on that, the APP consist of four functional blocks, i.e., recent analysis, real-time monitoring, trend analysis and system settings. The test results preliminarily confirmed that it could realize the extraction of multiple physiological parameters from the single optical sensor and basically perform the sleep apnea monitoring functions. The APP may provide a convenient and feasible mobile phone-based approach for daily monitoring, recording and trend analyzing of sleep apnea.
