Constructing Traveling Route for A Multi-purpose Mobile Node Using the Voronoi Diagram

Recently, smart-environment such as smart office and smart home attracts attention. In the environment where floor maps and fixed sensor deployment are known, introduce of mobile node enables to be advanced smart environment, e.g., sensing information on the region where fixed sensors do not cover, and collecting information stored in sensors isolated from networks. In this paper, we propose a system to aggregate multiple types of tasks using mobile nodes into one mobile node and to improve efficiency so that multiple tasks can be solved with only one travel. We also propose a method to decide an efficient traveling route of the mobile node by using the Voronoi diagram generated from floor maps and sensor deployment. Simulation results show that it is possible to generate movable routes of the mobile node without fatal problems by the proposed algorithm.
