A novel interleaved ipsilateral coupling high step-up converter (IICHSUC) is presented herein for using in the renewable energy power systems by applying the coupled-inductor voltage-multiplier module, coupled-inductor voltage-adder module and clamp-circuit module. The proposed IICHSUC has a higher step-up conversion ratio without using the extreme duty cycle. The power switches exhibits lower voltage stress, which is much smaller than the output voltage, and thus the low-voltage-rated MOSFETs can be used to decrease the conduction losses owing to the lower on-state resistances. Moreover, as the interleaving technique is applied to the proposed converter, the proposed converter also exhibits the capabilities of current sharing, low current stress, and low input current ripple in high power applications. The operating principle and state-state analysis are presented herein. Finally, a prototype of 40 V input voltage, 400 V output voltage, rated power 1kW prototype of the proposed converter is built to verify the theoretical analysis by experimental results.
