Additive Scrambling PAPR Reduction Scheme in BPSK-OFDM Systems

OFDM is a multicarrier transmission technique with high data rate, but one of its important shortcomings is the large PAPR of OFDM signals. Among the existing PAPR reduction methods, SLM is very attractive because of its favorable performance in PAPR reduction. This paper proposes an additive scrambling PAPR reduction scheme for OFDM systems employing BPSK. In proposed additive scrambling scheme, a set of additive scrambling sequences are generated in the first place. Then, by adding each additive scrambling sequence to the original OFDM signal, a set of OFDM candidate signals are gained. Finally, the candidate sequence with the minimum PAPR is chosen. This proposed additive scrambling scheme earns considerable complexity reduction and produce comparable PAPR reduction performance compared with SLM scheme.
