Mobile phones operates in close proximity to a human head, indeed one important consideration involves the interaction of the radiated EM fields with head tissue and many effects are demonstrated. Actually, it became very important to find a solution to reduce these effects. Previously, the insertion of a ferrite sheet between the antenna and the human head, the use of conductive materials even the use of metamaterials structure (SRR, FSS, EBG and HIS) to design high performance devices were proposed as methods to reduce the SAR. Due to the particularity of metamaterial structure, which could have many uses in upcoming technologies for antennas in mobile communications as their properties could provide new features for user's safety. A metamaterial structure consist of resonators (SRRs) is used to reduce the absorbed power inside a spherical multilayered head model exposed to a dipole and a PIFA antenna resonating at 0,9GHz.
