The effect of the hardening curve profile of a workpiece material on the drawing force of the bar under the conditions of planar deformation is studied. Dependencies for determining the stress in the crimping part of the dies were obtained taking into account the profile and parameters of the hardening curve. A comparison of these dependencies with known formulas for the calculation of drawing stresses is provided. It is shown that for the exponent of the hardening curve n ≤1 and taking into account contact friction, the use of the arithmetic mean yield point value leads to a decrease in the calculated drawing stress value. The difference in the results of the calculation increases with a decrease in the exponent n and an increase in the friction coefficient, reaching 20% or more at n≤0.35.
