摘要

In today's era, electricity is the essential commodity for the daily routine of mankind. Among the certain issues with the generation and distribution of electricity, the issue of additional economical burden due to power theft taking place is discussed in this paper. The different techniques used for power theft are presented. A prototype model is developed for overload and theft detection. The system is prepaid type where GSM and IOT based communication is used to send the alarms to the control station. The system has been tested under variable load conditions and optimum results are obtained.
