On the lines of dramatic growth of victims of paralysis worldwide, the grievances, societal negligence and the difficulties in performing everyday basic tasks they face leading to prominent dependence on family and friends, this paper proposes an intelligent brain controlled orthotic exoskeleton arm (ARMOID) for individuals affected by arm monoplegia (single-arm) paralysis. The device would provide shoulder, elbow, wrist and finger grasping motions to be controlled by neural data obtained using an EEG headset and guided by thoughts and facial expressions of the individual.
