Based on the a breakdown of 110kV type flexible prefabricated cable terminal, Fault cable terminal inspection and accident cause analysis are carried out, the discharge traces and the stress cone dislocation found during the disintegration of the cable terminal are analyzed in detail, using the finite element method of cable terminal of high voltage electrostatic field distribution and values of stress cone dislocation the simulation results obtained, When the cable terminal stress cone is dislocated, the electric field distortion is serious, and there is a severe partial discharge in the power frequency, and through analysis, it is concluded that the fabrication and installation of cable terminals is the fundamental cause of the stress cone dislocation.
