The waveform generation module is an important part of the beam forming of the digital array radar. In this paper, a kind of multi-carrier wideband waveforms is designed for the transmission beam forming. The waveforms are synthesized from the LFM waveforms, which combines the advantages of the LFM waveforms and the synthesized broadband waveforms. They have the characteristics of high range resolution, large bandwidth, and small instantaneous bandwidth. The multi-carrier wideband waveforms have a good synthesis direction of transmission beam and the beams can be flexibly controlled. There is no obvious distortion, and the method is simple to calculate because the hardware requirements are not high. So the multi-carrier wideband waveforms are suitable for digital beamforming.
