Multi-beam joint precoding technique has received significant attention since its capability of improving the transmission rate in multi-beam satellite system. Existing works on precoding technique assume the availability of accurate channel-state information (CSI) at the satellite transmitter. Unfortunately, the precoding method has suffered considerable limitations due to the huge transmission delay in mobile satellite communication system. To deal with the problem, this paper proposes an open-loop multi-beam joint precoding scheme. This state-of-the-art strategy compensates for the drawbacks of the conventional precoding schemes. In addition, an optimal power allocation scheme is also presented to put the system resource to good use and further eliminate the effects of inter-beam interference as well as channel fading. Simulation results demonstrate substantial performance gains compared with traditional frequency reuse scheme.
