摘要

Ahstract-The effective series power flow control in a transmission line through conventional method are generally implemented with series line reactors in power grids, as these reactors are economical in terms of project cost and easy to install. Although these conventional reactors can limit sudden increase in load current, however the voltage profile of the respective buses deteriorates. Subsequently series Flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) devices have been a feasible solution to limit sudden load currents while maintaining the voltage profile at buses. Among the latest series FACTS devices, the most prominent device, is the Interline power flow controller (IPFC). This paper investigates the effectiveness of IPFC in controlling the power flow and while maintaining the voltage profile in a 400kV power system network.
