摘要

The short-term voltage stability (STVS) in HVDC receiving-end power grid is weak, and the dynamic VARs are required to be installed. Therefore, the issue of dynamic VAR planning is worth to be studied. In this paper, a method for dynamic VAR planning based on the method of approximate programming (MAP) is proposed. Firstly, a brief introduction of the MAP is presented. Then, the dynamic VAR planning problem is constructed, a short-term voltage stability (STVS) index is proposed, the optimization problem is linearized and the procedure of the proposed method is presented. Lastly, a case study on a modified IEEE 39 system is presented. The method proposed in this paper is simple in form and easy to solve, which has potential for practical applications.
