Influence of UHVDC in Qinghai Province on Peak Operation of Northwest Power Grid

摘要

In this paper, a research about the impact on peak operation of northwest main power grid under the Qinghai UHVDC has been done. It applies a 8760-hour grid operation simulation to analyze new energy abundant rate, coal consumption and reliability of both Northwest and Qinghai power grid under different grid structures, with or without Qinghai UHVDC and different complementary operation modes, such as long-term trading only, short-term trading only and hybrid trading. A conclusion demonstrates that the new energy abandonment rate could be decreased when the complementary operation runs intensively (i.e. independent operation, long-term trading operation, hybrid trading operation, short-term trading only)between Qinghai and Northwest main power grid.
