Identification of Factor Affecting Continuance Usage Intention of mHealth Application : A Systematic Literature Review

Nowadays, there were over 300.000 health applications in the market and continues to grow. Approximately 40 percent of smartphone owners use mHealth apps. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the existence of mHealth become much more important. But, approximately more than 30 percent mHealth applications were uninstalled within a month of download. The impact of uninstalled app is quite significant both for users and company. Uninstalled app can cause more than $30,000 monthly potential loss to the company. Also, without using mHealth continuously users won’t be able to achieve their ultimate goal, which is improving the quality of live. An increasing amount of research has been conducted to learn about the continuance usage intention of mHealth, and we rarely find an extensive article review on mHealth continuance usage intention. Therefore, this paper aim to identify factors affecting continuance usage intention of mHealth application using a systematic literature review approach to papers published in 2010–2020. According to the findings there are 39 factors that affecting continuance usage intention of mHealth application, with the most frequent factors are Satisfaction, Perceived usefulness, Perceived service quality, Perceived trust, and Perceived ease of use. From that factors we can see that user will continuously use the app if the app can accommodate their expectation and satisfy them. To achieve that, the app not only need to be easy to use but also must have a good service quality, and trustworthy.
