Optimal of wavelength converter deployment in WDM optical networks

摘要

Identification and Deployment of Wavelength Converters (WCs) are more important in WDM optical networks. Deployment of WCs at proper location enhances the connection establishment. We have proposed the optimum number of WCs that can be deployed to minimize the blocking of connection with the minimum increase in the network cost. We also find the location for the WCs to be deployed in the network to improve the connection establishment. Simulation results show that connection establishment is improved in proper deployment of WCs in the backbone network.
