In the nuclear industry, various microwave or conventional heating techniques are being utilized for processing of radioactive waste in order to reduce its hazardous effects to facilitate the safe disposal. In this paper, the microwave treatment of radioactive waste is explored by estimating the dielectric properties of various nuclear gradable materials such as concretes concealed in a non-metallic container using the time domain technique. The main focus here is to monitor the changes in the dielectric properties along with the loss factor of investigating media which can be useful in order to process the radioactive waste materials concealed in the non-metallic container.
