Electrical and optical properties of MEH-PPV: Fullerene (C60) based devices

Here, we fabricate a polymer: fullerene composite based devices and investigate its electrical and optical responses. Raman spectra and absorption spectra of the composites show no difference in either shape or intensity from spectrum of pristine MEH-PPV suggesting no change in the chemical structure upon incorporation of C60 into MEH-PPV. I-V behavior of the devices found to be very similar to the Schottky behavior. The higher photocurrent of composite based device compare with the pristine device would make this composite a potential candidate for photovoltaic applications.
