This paper presents a cutting remesh algorithm for 2-dimensional triangulation in mesh cutting simulation. A particular challenge in remesh algorithm of cutting simulation is elimination of ill-shape elements which are produced in cutting procedure. The algorithm we proposed is based on the combination of vertex snapping method and element refinement method in mesh cutting which can create non-jagged cutting trajectory. Our solution is to acquire duplication vertices by calculating barycentric coordinates of each element in cutting area and then to render cutting trajectory by using duplication vertices. Finally, we will demonstrate that our method is more effective to isotropic and anisotropic 2-dimensional triangulation mesh.
