Steady-State Performance Comparison of Two Different Adaptive Cycle Engine Configurations

From the first propose of Adaptive Cycle Engine concept, several different configurations of Adaptive Cycle Engine concepts had been proposed, studied and demonstrated. However, it was still a problem that what were their own features of each configuration of Adaptive Cycle Engine and what were the differences between each other. Two configuration of Adaptive Cycle Engine concept was studied in this paper to demonstrated the differences of steady-state performance and component matching caused by the structural differences. Three respective off-design conditions were chosen for comparison. As a result, different Adaptive Cycle Engine configurations with same design cyele parameters and control laws have less differences in steady-state performance, but have remarkable differences in component matching.
