A digital stethoscope is constructed for the adaptive mitigation of internal and external noise accompanying real-time acoustical heart measurements. The developed system utilizes the fundamentals of statistical tendencies accompanying signals for the suppression of noise, reconstruction of heart signals, and heart rate calculation in a simultaneous manner. In this paper, the designed digital stethoscope is reconstructed from a mathematical model accompanied by the physical equipment used. After the exploration of the system from mathematical principles is completed, the working performance of the instrument is displayed followed by the derivation and implementation of the variable step-size least-mean-squares adaptive noise cancelling algorithm.
