The paper deals with the task of selection of quality and reliability indices of means and methods of corrosion protection with account for requirements of structural strength. Systematized description is provided of standard (basic, characteristic) impacts and representative values of negative factors of corrosiveness. For corrosion protection design, classification features of steel structures and their protective coatings are specified based on the criticality rating. Design indices of structural steel durability are discussed. The purpose of this paper is to substantiate the composition and structure of indicators determining corrosion state (IKS) for program-oriented management of the process safety of industrial facilities [1]. The developed methodology involves an analytical-experimental estimate of reliability and availability factors of corrosion protection. Process approach to assuring technological safety of structures reflects DMAIC action strategy (define, measure, analyze, improve, control). Logistical system has been generated for reserve planning of a structure's survivability on the basis of signs of corrosion hazard [2, 3], A method is suggested for calculating compensation for corrosion losses when comparing competitive advantages of corrosion protection systems. The index of level of corrosion protection is specified for managing technological safety on the basis of risk reduction.
