In this study, Mg-Ca-Zn alloy was produced by powder metallurgy method for scaffold applications in tissue engineering. Fluoride conversion coating was synthesized on the alloy by immersion treatment in hydrofluoric acid. For surface treatment the specimens were immersed in sodium hydroxide. Subsequently, specimens were dried and immersed in hydrofluoric acid. Mechanical properties of the specimens were determined. Increasing Zn content increased the Young's modulus. Ca addition prevented the oxidation of the specimens during sintering. Electrochemical corrosion behaviour of the specimens was examined. Weight loss of the specimen was initially decreased with Zn addition and then increased. Fluoride conversion coating was increased the electrochemical corrosion resistance of the specimens.
