The main objective of this study was to evaluate the fatigue characteristics and remaining fatigue life of field emulsified asphalt cold recycled (EACR) mixture. In this study, the field EACR mixture specimens were cored from car and truck lanes that suffered different traffic loads. The specimens then underwent the indirect tensile strength test and indirect tensile fatigue test. Moreover, field hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixture which covered the EACR mixture was also tested for comparison. Test results indicate that difference in traffic loads has almost no effect on the indirect tensile strength of mixtures irrespective of mixture type. Fatigue test results indicate that more traffic loads will lead to greater reduction in fatigue life for both EACR mixture and HMA mixture. In addition, an analytical method based on laboratory and field correlations was developed to determine the shift factor for predicting the remaining fatigue life of field EACR mixture as well as HMA mixture. In this study, the shift factor values of EACR mixture and HMA mixture were calculated as 107.16 and 13.71, respectively.
