摘要

An overmoded relativistic backward-wave oscillator (RBWO) operating in TM02 mode is researched experimentally. It is found that the large radius ratio of the outer and inner conductors in the diode region improves the operation stability in the low magnetic field. And reducing the diode gap enhances the microwave generation. In experiment, the microwave pulses with the power 286 MW in Ka-band are obtained. The pulse shortening is mainly cause by the bombardment of the stray electrons on the device surface.
