Project of LPS for rocket launcher of the Barreira do Inferno Launch Center — CLBI

摘要

This work deals with the design of a Lightning Protection System to the rocket launcher located in the Barreira do Inferno Launch Center. For its development the technical standards ABNT NBR 5419/2015 and IEC 62305 were used as main references. The Electrogeometrical Method (Rolling Spheres) was used for the development of the project, chosen after a thorough analysis of the other methods and the various changes included in the latest version of the standard. The recommendation of the study was to install towers around the launcher in order to provide security for persons and protection for equipment, both in the assembly and launch phases of the rocket.
