Social-aware automated course planner: An integrated recommender system for university registration system

One of the most significant systems operated in a university is the student registration system. The system provides student services such as student profile and course enrollment. A classical problem that students encountered is course and section selection. This task is tedious and time consuming for most students. In addition, students prefer to study with their friends. Our paper presents a novel recommender system that suggests schedules based on their friends on Facebook. This is considered as Constraint Satisfaction Problem where the constraints are personal constraints (course preferences), social constraints (friends' schedules and course selection), and scheduling constraints (study day and time).
