摘要

The increase of renewable energy power plants causes many problems in power system. One of the problems is load fluctuation. With current conventional power plants, sometimes they cannot follow the load fluctuation due to their limited ramp rate. Thus, this paper proposes the battery installation to solve this problem. The battery can help the system because of its fast response. The considered type of battery in this paper is Lithiumion (Li-ion). The objective of this paper is to propose a method to determine an optimal battery size in generation system considering ramp rate of load and renewable energy generation. The proposed algorithm is tested with power demand of Thailand. Satisfactory results were obtained.
