In this paper, a hybrid model is proposed for fixed-plate heat exchanger (FPHE) employed as heat recovery device in regenerator of Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification System (LDDS). Starting from the energy balance principles, the developed hybrid model combines the complex geometric dimensions and fluids' thermodynamic properties into constants. The resulting heat recovery model has only three unknown parameters which can be identified by Levenberg-Marquardt method. Compared with the existing heat recovery models, the proposed model is simple yet accurate, and does not need iterative computation. Experimental validation demonstrates the availability of the proposed model in predicting heat recovery performance over a wide working range. The model is expected to be employed in prediction, optimization and performance assessment of the heat recovery process in regenerator of LDDS.
