Nowadays, security of images is important over the network. For this, many encryption algorithms are proposed earlier but the security is not that much good if chosen-plain text attack and other possible attacks are considered. For this purpose, a new encryption algorithm is developed based on the generation of random list of primes and this can be served as a key for encrypting the images. The generated random list is changed for each and every encryption. It shows that the proposed encryption is secure against differential attacks. The proposed encryption scheme is simulated and tested against various measures. The entropy tests show that the proposed work gives high randomness. The correlation tests and histogram analysis are performed to reveal that the proposed work has good level of security and there is no correlation between adjacent pixels.
