Capacitance-based perimeter alarm system is a comprehensive, humane, modern new security product. The traditional capacitance-based perimeter alarm system uses the FIR high-order low-pass filter, which leads to a large number of CPU resources occupied and can't remove the noise within the same signal spectrum, so it is easy to produce false alarms. We are the first to introduce wavelet analytical method into the signal processing of capacitance-based perimeter alarm system, used for signal denoising and feature extraction. Our system can not only reserve the original waveform, but also identify the intrusion waveform more accurately, so the recognition accuracy will be greatly improved. The simulation and practical application show that the wavelet algorithm can significantly reduce the number of false alarms and improve the overall performance of the system. At present, our system is with no omission and low false alarm rate. Our average daily false alarm rate is less than 10 times per kilometer, which has obvious advantage compared to other alarm systems with dozens or hundreds times per kilometer.
