Due to the significant change in the use of Internet content actually ongoing, recent regulatory initiatives of the European Commission focused on developing conditions for the introduction of wireless broadband in the 2300 MHz band. In this scenario, the assessment of the coexistence between incumbent radio technologies working in adjacent bands becomes necessary. In response to the invitation of the European Commission to the Member States to perform specific coexistence analysis in this framework, the potential impact of TDD (Time Division Duplexing) LTE signals in 2300-2400 MHz band towards quality of service perceived by Wi-Fi 802.11 users in band 2400-2500 MHz, under different operating conditions, has been investigated in the Istituto Superiore C.T.I. laboratory. The Wi-Fi performance, impacted by LTE, has been evaluated in terms of throughput and modulation scheme, incrementing the LTE signal power level applied on Wi-Fi receiver.
