Translation is normally the main working mode of tunnel element transportation, which is one of key techniques in immersed tunnel. An approach which can decide the magnitudes and directions of towing forces is presented in no-power immersed tunnel element's translation control under current flow. A particle swarm-based control method, which exploits a sort of linear weighted logarithmic function to avoid weak subgoals, is utilized. In simulation, the performance of the particle swarm-based control method is evaluated in the case of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project.
