This paper presents a compact coplanar waveguide fed monopole antenna with four notched frequency bands. The proposed antenna yields an impedance bandwidth of 2.5-11 GHz except for four notched bands of 3.7-4.2 GHz for the C-band satellite communications, 5.15-5.825 GHz for the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks), 7.25-7.75 GHz for the downlink of X-band satellite communication applications, and 8.025-8.45 GHz for ITU service. The proposed antenna occupies a very small size of 19.7×23.5 mm2, which makes it a competitive candidate for miniaturize applications.
