Optimization of the hospital logistics chain: The case of the surgery and oncology departments state of the art

Nowadays, hospital logistics has become an essential component of healthcare institutions. It allows the synchronization of all the flows inside a hospital to ensure the efficiency of the health care system, particularly in the case of cancerous diseases. This paper presents a synthesis of the research carried out since 1992 on hospital logistics chain. The 1st part of this article is dedicated to the hospital logistics chain; in the second part we discuss research work on logistics optimization within the surgery department; the 3rd part is devoted to problems related to chemotherapy; and we conclude by presenting our perspective that links these three areas of research; namely, the optimization of the hospital logistics chain of the surgery and oncology departments.
