ZigBee is a short distance wireless network technology which provides low data rate, low power consumption, low speed and less latency. It is a promising wireless technology which creates boom in sensor network field with its excellent features. ZigBee network is operated in three network topologies: star, tree and mesh. The frequencies of operation of ZigBee network are 868 MHz, 915MHz and 2.4GHz bands. In this paper, a performance analysis is carried out by comparing ZigBee network with tree and mesh topology by using different frequency bands. The performance metrics such as throughput, media access delay, queue size, queuing delay, data dropped and hop number are analyzed using Opnet Modeler 14.5 simulator.
