3D visual simulation of Chinese fir based on the influence of different stand spatial structures

According to the influence of the stand spatial structure on the crown shape of Chinese fir, a new method of diversified 3D Chinese fir modeling based on spatial structure was proposed. In this study, spatial structure units that were divided by a reasonable method were selected in Chinese fir stands. And the data of spatial structure and crown shape in different units was surveyed. Two parameters that can describe spatial structure were defined to analyze the influence of spatial structure on crown shape. Meanwhile, the method of crown shape curve construction was improved to build different crown shape curve and the method of 3D tree modeling was used to realize Chinese fir 3D visualization according to complex spatial structures. The result suggests that both the relative crown height and relative under-branch height has a very significant positive correlation with the spatial structure parameter 1. Moreover, there is very significant positive correlation between the crown radius and the spatial structure parameter 2 in the same direction. In conclusion, the modeling method based on the spatial structure of stand can effectively realize the visualization of the spatial structure influence on the crown shape and the diversified 3D modeling of Chinese fir.
